Audience

Who is this session for?

The 1-day event is designed to reach teachers who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend an IM Math™ Certified event.

or

For districts who have already held their district-wide Initial Implementation sessions, but now have new coaches, teachers or other staff to update, this IM Math™ Academy will fill that need.

or

For those who are simply curious about IM Math™ and how it can transform their mathematics classroom with problem-based learning… will experience a transformative preview.

Agenda

What is on the agenda?

The agenda will include the basic design features of problem-based lessons (including assessments) and why they are important.

A study of and practice with both: Math Content Routines and Math Language Routines.

An experience with NCTM's best-selling book The 5 Practices in Practice and why it is embedded in problem-based curricula.

A discussion: What About Fact Fluency? What is it, why it's necessary, where is it in the program, as well as ideas for how to fit it all in.

Brookside's Fact Fluency teaser — full product reveal coming soon.

Common questions

Before you register

How is this different from Build Math Minds and similar subscription PD?

Build Math Minds is a curriculum-agnostic video library — useful for a teacher building general fluency but not for one about to open an IM Math™ unit on Monday. The Summer Academy is a single immersive day of certified IM training with grade-band breakouts and direct access to a facilitator who has implemented IM in districts like yours.

Can my district fund this from a general PD budget?

Yes. The per-teacher fee is designed to fit a discretionary school PD budget: no Title II-A reliance, no grant dependency, no district-level procurement.

What if I can't attend the full day?

The morning and afternoon sessions build on each other, so partial attendance loses a lot of the value. Email Rosanne and we'll talk about whether the other location's date works for you or whether an in-district session is a better fit.

What happens if I register at list price now and a further discount is announced later?

The $399 early-bird through July 31 is the only discount offered for the 2026 dates. Your price is locked at registration.

Can I send multiple teachers from the same school?

Yes. The same per-teacher rate applies. If you're coordinating three or more from one building, email Rosanne directly so we can sequence registrations and confirm room capacity.

What's the cancellation or transfer policy?

Full details are confirmed at registration. In general, registrations are transferable to another teacher at any time before the event date, and refunds are honored on a published timeline.
